So, I stayed away from the political discussion on the old forum for a few reasons. One is that a large group of those who discuss politics cannot do so without getting triggered. Second is that there was a lack of moderation. Obviously if I'm the administrator here, I can't help but be thrown into the mix. I actually moderate a political group on Facebook with a few thousand members so this isn't new to me. There is the ability to have actual meaningful discussion but it requires a certain set of guidelines that I hope we can follow to keep things civil here.
1. Show basic human decency and courtesy. No hate speech - No shit.
2. Irrelevant posts will be removed - Don't just post links to whatever article you googled. Give us more substance and explain why or give your opinion.
3. Attack opinions, not people - Pretty self explanatory.
Easy peasy. A few simple rules that cover the fundamentals of discussing politics. Let me know by DM if you think I missed anything.
